Use the Text Editor Options dialog box to select your text editor and to set text editor options. To change text editors, see Changing Text Editors. To open the Text Editor Options dialog box, choose Options Text Editor Options from the Sun WorkShop main window.

Note - Many of the options in the Text Editor Options dialog box do not apply to the Sampling Analyzer (for more information about the Sampling Analyzer, see Analyzing Program Performance).

The options displayed in the dialog box change depending on the editor you choose in the Editor to Use pull-down menu (see the text editor options listed below by editor). For more information about each editor's options, see the online documentation available from the Help menu in the editor's menu bar.

NEdit

Highlight Syntax	Enables the use of colors and fonts to distinguish language elements in source code files.
Show Matching Parentheses	Sets the option of briefly jumping to the matching bracket when a bracket is inserted in source code files.
Set WorkShop Hotkeys	Enables the use of Sun WorkShop shortcut keys in the editor, which are the same shortcut keys used in the debugger (overrides the default editor shortcut keys).
Save All Files Before Build	Requests Sun WorkShop to save all unsaved source files before starting a build.
Balloon Expression Evaluator	Enables the balloon expression evaluator, which shows you the current value of the expression at which your cursor is pointing in your editor (see Using the Balloon Expression Evaluator).
Popup Delay	Sets the default delay after the balloon expression evaluator display is posted (the default is 0.6 seconds or 600 ms).

Vi

Show Line Numbers	Adds line numbers to the left of each line.
