The functionality of the Vim editor provided by the Sun WorkShopTM integrated programming environment is similar to the Vim editor that you can start from a shell. Sun WorkShop adds a menu bar. For more information about the Vim editor, see the online documentation available through the editor Help menu and the Vim web page (http://www.vim.org).

The Vim editor window has the following components:
Menu Bar (Vim Editor Window) Provides commands for editing and for some common Sun WorkShop operations.
Tool Bar (Vim Editor Window) Provides easy access to the most common Sun WorkShop operations.
Display Pane Displays the contents of the current file.
Mode line Displays information about the current state of the buffer.
Message area Displays information about the current editing operation, error messages, and the name and operation of the selected tool bar button.
