The functionality of the NEdit editor provided by the Sun WorkShopTM integrated programming environment is similar to the NEdit editor that you can start from a shell. Sun WorkShop adds the WorkShop menu to the menu bar, a tool bar, and a message area at the bottom of the window. For more information, see the online documentation available through the editor Help menu.

The NEdit editor window has the following components:
Menu Bar (NEdit Editor Window) Provides commands for editing and some common Sun WorkShop operations.
Tool Bar (NEdit Editor Window) Provides easy access to the most common Sun WorkShop operations.
Display Pane Displays the contents of the current file.
Message area Displays information about the current editing operation, error messages, and the name and operation of the selected tool bar button.
Re-Usable Button When selected, displays subsequently opened files in the NEdit editor window that is already open.
