The functionality of the NEdit editor provided by the Sun WorkShopTM integrated programming environment is similar to the NEdit editor that you can start from a shell. Sun WorkShop adds the WorkShop menu to the menu bar, a tool bar, and a message area at the bottom of the window. For more information, see the online documentation available through the editor Help menu.
The NEdit editor window has the following components:
| Menu Bar (NEdit Editor Window) | Provides commands for editing and some common Sun WorkShop operations. |
| Tool Bar (NEdit Editor Window) | Provides easy access to the most common Sun WorkShop operations. |
| Display Pane | Displays the contents of the current file. |
| Message area | Displays information about the current editing operation, error messages, and the name and operation of the selected tool bar button. |
| Re-Usable Button | When selected, displays subsequently opened files in the NEdit editor window that is already open. |
