Welcome to Sun WorkShop Dialog Box

The main window is your primary way to access the programming environment that allows you to create, develop, debug, and fine tune your applications.

The main window has the following components:
Title bar Identifies the current project file name.
Project Menu Provides commands to create a new project, open an existing project, add a file or library to a project, edit the current project, and exit. You can also work without a project loaded (see Working With Projects).
File Menu Provides commands to create a new text file or open an existing text file (the Sun WorkShop integrated programming environment opens your text editor of choice automatically).
Build Menu Provides commands to build a project, open the Building window, and specify a new target or edit an existing target.
Debug Menu Provides commands to run or debug a program.
Browse Menu Provides commands to browse source files or classes.
Options Menu Provides commands to select project options, a default text editor, debugging options, and startup options.
Tools Menu Provides access to the Performance Analyzer, the source browser, Sun WorkShop TeamWare, and Sun WorkShop Visual tools.
Windows Menu Provides commands to minimize all windows and open specific Sun WorkShop windows.
Help Menu Provides commands to get online help about Sun WorkShop through how-to guides, concept definitions, and window descriptions, to access the readme file, and to send in your comments about the Sun WorkShop integrated programming environment.
Tool Bar Provides buttons for quick access to common program development operations.
Status area Displays status and error messages and tool bar button definitions when the cursor is positioned over a button.
