A. Introduction
Note - No changes have been made to the TCOV profiling tools since the Sun WorkShop 6 release.
For last-minute information on the Sampling Collector and Performance Analyzer, and the utilities provided with these tools, see the analyzer readme.
For installation-related and late-breaking information about this release, see the Sun WorkShop 6 update 2 Release Notes. Information in the release notes overrides information in all readme files.

This Readme describes the TCOV profiling tools, which can be used to generate a detailed statement-by-statement coverage profile of program's execution. See the tcov(1) man page or the manual Analyzing Program Performance With Sun WorkShop for details on how to use these tools. To access this manual, point your browser to http://docs.sun.com.

There are no new features in the TCOV profiling tools in this release.

The description of tcov in Appendix A of the manual, Analyzing Program Performance With Sun WorkShop, does not define a basic block. The definition of a basic block is "a contiguous section of code that has no branches".
