Suppressing the Startup Message

By default, startup messages are suppressed for dbx version numbers below 5.0. When running dbx outside of Sun WorkShop, you can set the highest dbx version number to have its startup banner suppressed.

To set the version below which the startup message does not print:

1. In the Debugging Window, choose Debug Debugging Options. Or, in the Sun WorkShop main window, choose Options Debugging Options.

2. In the Debugging Options Dialog Box, click the Command Line Only tab.

3. At Suppress startup messages for versions below, type the version number in the text field.

4. Click OK to apply the change to the current session, or click Save as Defaults and then click OK to apply it to all sessions.

Note - This option is equivalent to the dbx suppress_startup_message Environment Variable.
