To fix a failed source browsing query, do the following:

1. Look in the status message area at the bottom of the Browsing Window for an error message or search status message.

2. If the message footer reads No Matches found for string, check that you have typed the program-defined symbol correctly in the Match text box.

3. Check the directory listed in the Browsing window header to make sure it is the directory where the database resides (to change directories, see Changing Browsing Directories).

All buttons and text fields are disabled when no database is found. A message displays when you change to a directory that does not contain a database. For information about databases, see Source Browsing Databases.

4. Check the Match, Type, and Scope pull-down menus and text boxes to make sure that your current search is not limited by the settings of a previous query.
