The Function List display is the default display that you see when you open the Analyzer or choose Function List from the Data list box. It contains metrics specific to functions and load objects. It is divided into two display panes:

• The left display pane contains a histogram representation of the metric on which the data is sorted.
• The right display pane shows a table of function metrics; to the right of each row in the table is the name of the function to which the data in that row applies.

You can examine the following types of data in the Function List display:

• Clock-Based Profiling Data
• Hardware Counter Overflow Profiling Data
• Synchronization Wait Tracing Data
• Callers-Callees Function Metrics
• Annotated Source and Disassembly Code

For all metrics you can examine both exclusive and inclusive data. For callers-callees function metrics, you can also examine attributed data. See Exclusive, Inclusive, and Attributed Metrics for more information.

The data available from the experiment depends on the data collected with The Sampling Collector or the collect command (see the collect(1) man page).

You can perform the following operations in the Function List display:

• Choosing the Metrics Displayed and the Sort Order
• Selecting Experiments, Samples, Threads, and LWPs for Analysis
• Adding an Experiment to the Existing Display
• Dropping an Experiment from the Performance Analyzer
• Switching Between the Function Display and the Load Object Display
• Searching for a Function or Load Object
• Selecting Load Objects to Display Information About
• Viewing Summary Metrics for a Function or Load Object
• Using the Callers-Callees Window to Examine Function Caller-Callee Data
• Displaying Annotated Source and Disassembly Code for a Function
• Choosing a Text Editor
